Research Finance Project Officer & Coordinator 
Location: Waterford, Ireland (Remote eligibility within Ireland) | Type: Permanent | Start: ASAP | Hours: Full-time | Salary: Commensurate with experience 

Are you a detail-driven professional with a passion for EU project coordination, research finance, and stakeholder engagement?

At Trilateral Research, we’re looking for a Research Finance Project Officer & Coordinator to lead the financial and administrative execution of our high-profile research projects, primarily under the Horizon Europe programme. You’ll be the bridge between consortium partners, the European Commission, and internal stakeholders, ensuring smooth collaboration and full compliance at every stage of the project lifecycle.  

 

What you will do 

Key responsibilities include but not limited to

 

Grant Agreement Preparation 

  • Support the Project Manager in financial and administration tasks during the Grant Agreement Preparation (GAP) phase 

  • Guide consortium partners through (non-technical) Part A of the GAP 

  • Draft and coordinate Consortium Agreements, NDAs, and other relevant contractual documents 

  • Monitor and ensure through timely communication the signing of accession forms by all partners 

Coordinate Projects & Communications 

  • Manage communication and coordination of financial administrative aspects for all coordinated projects 

  • Address and resolve any issues or concerns raised by stakeholders to reach constructive outcomes 

  • Act as the go-to liaison for project reporting and communication 

  • Coordinate timelines, deliverables, and partner communications 

  • Ensure administrative clarity and financial transparency across all stakeholders 

Financial Administration & Reporting 

  • Monitor internal effort and financial reporting from consortium partners 

  • Maintain and monitor a system to track financial expenditures and allocations for work packages across all consortium partners 

  • Support submission of deliverables via EC’s SyGMa portal 

  • Collaborate with Research Finance Officers and Manager on financial reports, grant amendments, and audits 

  • Present at virtual Kick-Off Meetings and key partner calls 

 

Job requirements

What you bring  

Essential requirements:  

  • 3+ years professional experience in project coordination/management and strategic communication 

  • Proven project/finance coordination skills including monitoring and reporting across multiple complex projects 

  • Working knowledge of EU grant management including administrative, financial, compliance and legal aspects 

  • Ability to communicate, influence, negotiate, resolve conflict and foster positive relationships with stakeholders from academia, funding bodies, government institutions, industry, and the public sector 

  • Excellent organisational, presentation and reporting skills and ability to address sensitive information with professionalism and high attention to detail 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and project management tools

Desirable requirements:  

  • Certification in project management (e.g. PRINCE2, PMQ, PPM, APMP, CSM) 

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field to support responsibilities in project management/coordination  

  • Familiarity with EU regulations, project terms and conditions  

  • In depth knowledge in project finance management and research grant management life cycle
